Pipe Vise
need a way to make a copper 1 inch pipe in to an oval cylinder?
this what i have tried. i tried it repeated on a vise and put it in between to metal plates but the middle of the pipe warps and both sides have indentions on the side, like the side gets pushed in some how
then i tried using a floor jack and put it in between 2 2x4 trex deckin and put it under my truck and raised the jack and it still folds in the middle.
then i tried fillin the inside pipe with foam and pressed it and it didnt warp as much but still did..
im triying to make an oval piston for a project im working on but im having issues with the pipe warping. it would evan be fine if it was flat on the inside but i dont know how to not warp the middle section.
any help?

what about making a die?
this ideally should be metal but you may get away with very hardwood,decide how wide you need it then drill a hole of that size in the wood cut in half thro" hole and remove enough wood to get narrow size,then reduce pipe by sqeezing in vice to get a start and pull thro"two pieces of wood held together in vice to form elipse, just the basic principle but it may work
