can u use a laminate counter top and undermount sink with faucet on the counter?

It will not look nearly as nice as stone or solid surface. Plus it can cause lots of problems. The compressed wood your counter is made of, absorbs water very easily, and will swell. So unless you band it like the other poster suggested, and seal it extemely well, problems are bound to occur. In addition, remember that you have to laminate the bottom of the counter top where the sink is as well.
