stainless kitchen sinks

How do I get a chemical stain off of a stainless steel kitchen sink?
There are two small chemical stains on the sink that are both about the size of a penny. The stains were caused by either full-strength paint stripper or by diluted muriatic acid. I'm not sure which, but it is definitely one of those things.
Is there any way to get rid of these stains so that the sink looks like new again?
I would try using a car buffer. I'm sure you could rent one from an auto shop. It's possible that the stains are permanent, but the buffing machine is your best bet. With luck, the buffer will completely remove the stains...at the very least, it should improve them.
Even though stainless steel is called "stainless", it sometimes stains just the same, especially if strong chemicals lay on it. Stainless steel is actually an alloy that contains chrome, and chrome can be sensitive.
Good luck.
