How easy is it to get matching drum equipment after purchasing a shell-pack?
I am considering purchasing a Pearl Vision 6-piece shell-pack (I have awesome hardware already). The shell-pack comes with one bass drum.
I was wondering how hard it would be to get a matching bass drum and a few more toms later down the road (same sizes and finish).
How hard is this?
Unless you buy a very basic color like black or white it will be very hard. Even common colors like red will change in the shade that is offered from year to year. When I bought my 6 piece Masters Series Pearls I bought black for that very reason. The funny thing is that as I became a better drummer I found that less drums were cooler (in the real drumming community) than the big hokey double bass kits and also found that once you really know how to play extra drums are just for show. Like the late and great Buddy Rich said..."if you need more than 4 drums and 3 cymbals you ain't worth a sh1t...".
