Veneer Molds
I went to dentist to get 4 top front porcelain veneers put on. while the dentist was taking off the temporary,?
he broke off part of my front #9 tooth. He said he now has to do a root canal and instead of a veneer, he has to do a full porcelain crown. He did the root canal, put the veneer on with composite filling in back, and sent me home. The next week, the broken tooth cover broke off. I had to go back to the office. My dentist was out of town, so the other dentist made another temporary. Monday I went back in, my dentist shaved off my real tooth to some shape, took a mold for the crown, then made another "stronger" temporary, which I have now. I went in for 4 veneers, now I have a root canal and soon a crown. It has been a painful month, not to mention not being able to eat much and scared to death it will fall out again. My question is, do I have the right to have him liable for this crown tooth cost if anything should go wrong with it in the future? And should I ask for the cost of the 1 veneer back?
This was most certainly an unforeseen complication. Taking the temps off for veneers, is not supposed to have this happen, especially a break that involves having to do a root canal. For certain, you should not have to pay for both the veneer that was not used and the full porcelain crown both. If you have paid for the veneer already, you should have the crown done for no charge. Also I would ask the dentist for some kind of price break on the root canal. If you were my patient and this would have happened while I was taking off a temporary veneer, I would do it for no charge. Good luck with everything.
