Towing Winch Parts
I need to know if my 1976 chevy is a tow truck or a carhauler.?
I have a 1976 chevy truck that was converted into what I call a car hauler.This truck can haul 1 car on top of the truck and it has an electric winch that goes up and hooks the other car with a chain so it hauls 2 cars.I need to know what you call this is it a tow truck or a carhauler.The truck part of this is shot rust holes everywhere but the tow or carhauler part is perfect and in working condition.can someone tell me how to look up something like this so I get an idea what just the hauler part is worth.or can someone tell me what this is worth .I have a possible buyer and they want to put the hauler part onto another truck and I do not want to sell it to cheap and I do not know what it is worth.
From your description, I would say that you have a truck bed that was custom built as a car hauler. These were popular with dealers before the rollback trucks became popular, and you still see a few today.
A custom bed like that is worth anywhere from $500 to about $2000, depending on the materials used, the condition and the size.
