Tool Copper

What is the simplest way of connecting a 1/2 inch copper pipe to a 25mm plastic pipe?
They are only 6" (170mm) apart, but at more or less right-angles.
Any answers welcome, but I'd like to avoid brazing if possible - my tool kit with my blowtorch in it was stolen a week or so ago.
The copper pipe is the incoming mains water, the plastic is a cistern inlet, with a fully working ballcock.
I just have a drip of about a gallon a day - I really don't want to remount the cistern.
Do it with a flexi-hose with reducers.
One end will be a 25mm connector and the pipe will be 25mm too, but at the other end you push-fit a reduced 25mm to 1/2 inch.
It's simpler to do, than to explain !
Good luck.
