HELP troubleshooting tube TV color issue?
Hello,
I have a 6 year old Sylvania tube TV that is the red is going in and out. I took a TV/VCR/PC repair class in high school, that was 12 years ago and I do not know where my notes are. I am an engineering student do I do have experience working with electronic, but I am trying to save some time but asking someone with a little more experience troubleshooting this problem. What could be causing the red to go out in the picture?
note: I still am seeing a picture, just without the color red being mixed in to it.
The red, blue and green output transistors should be located on the circuit board connected to the picture tube. It's possible there is a bad connection. Make sure the socket is on securely also. Examine the board with a magnifying glass where the parts are soldered. Otherwise it gets quite complicated. It's also possible the red gun is intermittent
