Storage Building Farm

Do I need auto insurance on a car that is not running with no plates?
I live in Parma, Cuyahoga County, Ohio. I am planning on buying a project car that is currently not running. I am going to keep it in a garage out on the farm and slowly build it back up. What kind of insurance do I need on it? My old car used to have storage insurance on it for winters, about $20 a month. I don't want to pay $70 per month for a nonrunning car!
I also live in Ohio, so I am familiar with the insurance laws. You will be asked if you have insurance on the car when you go to buy the plates. If you are not buying plates to drive the car, insurance will not be a problem.
However, if you want the car insured for fire, theft, and vandalism, you will need to purchase comprehensive insurance to cover these items.
The other thing you need to remember is that you will be charged a late charge in Ohio (new law) for not purchasing the tags before your birthday or when you you change the title into your name. I believe the fee is $20.00, but I'm not sure what they will charge if you do not tag the car for more than one year. You will have to call the registar for that information.
Good luck on your restoration project!
