Why would a man drive a hot rod car and get mad when a girl treats him like a douch bag?

Why would a man buy a car like this and get mad when girls give them that douch bag look or that WTF look?
By driving up in that hot rod car, he caught a few chicks attention and they were looking at him. He then gave them a look like yeah i'm the cat's meow!, Reved his engine and peals out.
If he didn't want to be looked at like a douch bag why would he buy such a hot rod car? What else could be the reason?? I know it's an ego thing among guys, but I feel some car owners can be a bit extreme about their ride...
glad most of you notice my sarcastic undertones here.! 
I would think any guy would be upset if a girl treats him like a D bag. Does having a certain car automatically indicate a certain behavior toward him? So, if I drive a Mercedes S class, then all women MUST respect and worship me?
I don't own a hot rod, I sometimes call my Shaggin' Wagon the Big Red Love Machine.
