Rebar Cutter
Issue with rebar breaking through foundation?
A piece of rebar broke through the concrete on the side of my foundation and is sticking out roughly 8 inches. Is this an issue?
I can cut the piece of rebar that is sticking out with bolt cutters and recover the area with concrete.
The house is 13 years old. The concrete spalled off and the rebar is sticking out roughly 8 inches.
I added a picture above my name. It's small, but hopefully you can see the rebar sticking out.
Did the concrete that was covering the re-bar just spall off or is the re-bar actually sticking out of the concrete. It's hard to believe that the latter is the case, because if it is, you have more serious issues to address than patching the concrete. If the concrete spalled off and re-bar is rusted, then the rust is the reason that the concrete broke off. If it isn't too rusty then you can just patch over it.
