Quad Bit

I have a gaming desktop pc I bought last year, its a quad-core with quite a bit of power;?
but what I want to know is will it be better to have 64bit Windows? Is the 64 bit a lot faster than 32 bit? I heard a lot of programs are made for 32 bit so thats what OS I used.
If you have more than 4GB of RAM, then moving to a 64 bit OS will allow you to use it for your applications. 64 bit operating systems can give a fairly significant performance gains if an application is designed to take advantage of it. Most games however are still designed around a 32 bit architecture for maximum compatibility. One thing you can run into with a 64 bit OS, is driver issues with peripherals/computer components. Most vendors are fairly caught up in terms of drivers, but it's still something to watch out for.
Long answer short, if it's purely for gaming and you don't have more than 4GB of RAM, you wont get any ridiculous gains in performance, but it wouldn't hurt to upgrade in the long run as more applications move towards 64 bit.
