When will the white poly carbonate Macbook unibody be updated?

I recently tried one at the Apple store and fell in love. I personally prefer the plastic to the aluminum on the MacBook Pro. But it's been more than 400 days since it was updated so the processors are a bit out-dated. I really hope that Apple doesn't discontinue it and make the Macbook Air the new entry level mac, I just really dislike it for some reason.

I've been wondering the same thing myself.
I fail to see why the standard Macbook configuration didn't get an update to an i3.
The TDP for the new i3s are significantly lower than the Core 2 Duo, prices for the Core 2 Duo must be higher (due to it being a dead architecture) than the new i3s, and the new i3s run much cooler. There is virtually no reason for them to leave it with a C2D.

I'm wondering if they're just trying to maintain an update cycle. I'm sure it'll get updated very soon.
I don't follow Apple's update cycles, so I don't know if there are actual rumors of an update or not.
Maybe they'll wait to update the standard configuration just so that they can update the processor and OS (to OS X Lion) at the same time. It seems pointless for them to update the CPU in it, ship millions of units, then update it again to OS X Lion.

I highly doubt they'll kill off the standard configuration simply to put the Macbook Air in the entry level slot.
