Polishing Pads
What pads do I need for the DeWalt DW849 polisher/sander?
got the DeWalt DW 849 TYPE 2 polisher /sander for my birthday. Right now I have the wool 7.5 inch. buffing/compounding pad. I'm pretty positive I need the polishing pad, and the hook & look backing. But are there any other pads I need to know about? And does anyone have any ideas where I could get them for cheep money? Thanks in advanced!(:
Kay, open your phone book and look for the largest most well equipped *automotive paint stores. They'll have really great washable and reusable lambs wool polishing bonnets.
I'm impressed with your polisher with variable speeds. All buffing & polishing with various compounds should be done at low speeds with light pressure. If you care I could pass along the names of two exceptional liquid rubbing and polishing compounds that these paint stores should have. If not, they're available on-line.
