Pneumatic Air

What PSI should my pneumatic (air) shocks be set at?
I recently bought a chevy 1500 with pneumatic rear shocks but I have no idea what a safe/reasonable psi to set them at would be.
Are they air shocks, or are they the "helper" bags?
If they are the helper bags, they are between the frame and the body, and you'll be able to see the air lines going to a black rubber cylinder, about 8" tall and mounted right above the rear axle. The lines to fill them will be at the rear above the license corners.
The helper bags are for when you fill the bed with something heavy, and they add support and height to the rear suspension.
If they are air shocks, fill them according to your driving style and comfort. Start somewhere towards the middle, and soften/stiffen them as you decide what you need.
