Spanish smear test???? any girls help?
I just come back from my doctors and i have a smear test on Wed. Please any girl who has had a smear test in Spain please tell me what happens. Im a little confused. The receptionist told me i have to take a piece of paper the doctor will give me to somewhere else????? what does she mean? and how long do results take to come back... do i have to collect them? etc please help. i have had a dreadful morning being pushed from pillar to post by impatient people.....
You go to the doctor. He writes you a "request form". The request form has your name and other details on it, and it says what tests you need to have done. You then take the paper to a pathology company who collect the specimens they need from your body and do the tests and tell the results to your doctor. The doctor then reports (and explains) the results to you.
The specimens they need to collect depend on what tests are being done. By smear test I think you might mean Pap smear. This means the specimen is a scraping of cells from your cervix.
It is also possible that you’re doctor may collect the specimens from your body, and then you just have to take the request form and the specimens to the pathology company.
