Nailer Stapler
roof sheathing attachment?
i am going to sheath a roof on new construction. i usually using a framing nailer with 2 1/4 ring shank nails. i am starting to realize this may be overkill. i am hearing the other homes being built in the same subdivision and they are nailing the sheathing with a crazy rapid fire sound that is as fast as i can say it. someone said its staples they are using. soooo what size staples and exactly what kinda gun am i going shopping for?
I have seen both pneumatic nail guns and staple guns used to secure the decking to the rafters, they will fire a nail (staple) as fast as you can pick up the gun and bump it down..the staples are thin, 1/4 - 1/2 wide an inch and a half to two inches long..just ask for a decking gun to see the choices.
