Paint that looks like wood for metal?
I am building 2 four storey buildings with metal railings all the way around the common balconies. Its plain welded steel compromised of basically
2" X 1" steel. Is there a Paint that doesn't require mixing or different coats with different colors to achieve a darker wood finish. Please be specific as i am in Costa Rica and its tough to find things here..Thanks
The best way to paint steel is to spray paint it. It takes less paint and you can control the thickness of the paint with out brush marks. I think that Dupont make a metallic paint in a silver, a bronze and a copper color. Remember that you must prime the steel before you paint it and let the primer set over night so the color will not bleed through the finish coat. I would recommend a primer that is used for rusty metal even if it is new because if there is even a tiny amount of rust it will spread and the primer converts it to metal again.
