Marble Dry

Is there a way to clean dried Semi-gloss off marble?
Yesterday I got some black semi-gloss interior paint on part of my marble counter top. Didn't notice it until today - dried on. Is there a way to remove it? I've tried mineral spirits and soap/water. Tell me this isn't permanent!
Is it Latex or enamel? If it's latex, then denatured alcohol will take it off. Denatured alcohol can be found at home improvement stores and hardware stores. No home should be without denatured alcohol at home, I use it for a lot of tasks.
You know the guy in "My Big, Fat, Greek Wedding" that uses Windex for everything? That's me with denatured alcohol. It's also great for de-greasing and removing many different types of adhesives. Denatured alcohol should be handled with care as with all chemicals, but it's safer than products like Goof-Off or acetone.
If it's not Latex, laquer thinner or acetone will work. Acetone is a little wicked though. It's available at the same places as denatured alcohol.
Or...you can try an old fashion single-edge razor blade. You may still need to use denatured alcohol to get off traces that the razor blade missed.
