Is there a metal that can sharpen itself?
Is there a type of metal that if it is propelled it will sharpen itself? like maybe a blade made out of this metal and u slashed something with it it could sharpen itself, or maybe like a hacksaw that would sharpen itself when u go to cut something.
It is possible to find an application in which a metal blade will sharpen itself but it has more to do with the job than with the metal. Perhaps the best known in wider use is the potato pealer which never needs sharpening till it wears out.
I once used a flat blade on a long handle to remove a tough, heavy coating from a concrete floor by sliding the blade along the floor at a low angle and impacting the edge of the coating. By the rubbing it received on the concrete at each push, the blade kept itself sharp - admittedly with a rather rough but nonetheless effective edge.
