Dry Core Drill

Best method for getting a core sample?
Hard rock and possibly quartz. Was considering building my own vibracorer but considering thats mainly for underwater core samples was assuming there was a better way. My samples will be taken on dry land. Something that is very affordable (under 200$) for either rental or to build myself. perferably something with no diamond drill because that would most likely be expensive.
If you want to drill hard rock and recover core, you will need a diamond core saw. Vibra-Core technology works fine in unconsolidated sediments (such as lake muds) but it won't even put a scratch in quartz-rich rock.
There are some small drills on the market that will recover short pieces of core from bedrock, but the cost of the bit alone will be $200 or more.

If you want a deep hole, you will need a diamond drill, and I'm afraid the cost will be upwards of $200/meter of core.
