Distance Measure Meter

Distance from the base of the cliff to the ship to the nearest meter?
A man stands on a cliff 100 meters above the ocean. He sees a ship out at sea and measures the angle of depression at 6 degrees. Find the distance from the base of the cliff to the ship nearest meter.
I can't remember how to do this problem on my homework can anyone one show me how this problem is done, Thank you.
If you draw this out, you will have a right triangle with a height of 100 meters and with an angle opposite to the base of the triangle (which is the distance from the ship to the base of the cliff).
Using the tangent ratio, if x is the distance between the base of the cliff and the ship:
tanθ = opp/adj = x/100 ==> x = 100tanθ.
Then, since the angle with respect to the horizontal is 6°, we see that θ = 90° - 6° = 84°. Thus, x = 100tan(84°) = 951 m.
I hope this helps!
