Coated Work Gloves

Why don't workers at plasma centers have to change gloves?
I spent my summer donating plasma for some extra cash. I noticed they never changed gloves between patients. What really made me uncomfortable though was that some days the techs would have blood on their coats, once I saw it on a glove, and the last time they didn't bother to clean up a few drops of blood on the lounge chair they told me to sit at.
Now, I have read this is not uncommon (the wearing the same gloves part), but when even food workers are supposed to follow strict laws about hand washing and wearing gloves, I don't understand how a plasma donation center gets around this.
Is there a law exempting them from changing gloves between patients or how does it work?
They probably should change gloves. I am not sure about this being a law but I can tell you that this is an open can of worms law suit waiting to happen.
There was an incident in Nevada that doctors were using the same needle to inject some medicine to over 1000 patience and about 100 of them got infected from some kind of disease. This obviously followed a big scandal and a law suit but who knew....
