Calculus vectors question?
Hey,
a) Draw a vector to represent the force exerted by a chain hoist carrying a load of 200 kg
Please draw then upload a pic, or just explain with words how to draw that
b) the points A B C D E F G are equally placed along a line. Name a vector which is equal to 2/3GC (with arrow on top of GC)
a) This vector will be magnitude of 200 kg away from the load (most likely up) so it will be <0, 200>.
If there is an angle between the chain and the vertical line, the vector will be <200cosΘ, 200sinΘ>.
b) If the distance between each point is 1, then GC is 4 units long. This means we want a vector that is 8/3 units long.
There are many ways to get this. One example is 4/3 GE. Another is 4/9 GA.
