Plumbing question about sanitary T height?
I have a kitchen sink which drains poorly. So far as I can see the problem is insufficent slope which could be remedied one of two ways. The sink could be raised an inch (this would mean raising the entire counter, which might be visible while seated.) Or lowering the sanitary T in the wall, which would be a lot of work, especially if it is cast iron. Aren't heights of counters and DWV T's standardized in height?
Suggesting a third way to solve the problem. Remove and shorten up the tailpiece coming out of the drain basket. Just cut 1/4 to 1/2"off of it and reinstall.
