Building Metal Barn

What would be my best option for networking my computers outside my main house?
I have a metal barn that is about 50 ft from the corner of the house(where my cable modem and router are) with my travel trailer where I currently have 2 computers. I am having trouble picking up my wireless signal especially on the laptop(this is even with the router firmware modified to Firmware Version: v4.71.1, Hyperwrt 2.1b1 + Thibor15c with transmit power on 84mW) with all the doors on the barn closed plus it being inside the travel trailer. What are my options to get my internet all the way inside the metal building and into my travel trailer? Someone said something to me about running the cable underground that it needed to be grounded or it could burn a port up with thunderstorms? Any advice?
Is there a AP that would allow me to be installed in the barn and drill a hole and hook an outdoor antenna to it then run network cable to my trailer? Which would be the most cost effective?
The CEO of my company just got done doing something along this line. Never ever, ever, ever run Ethernet cable from one building to another as your buddy suggested this could play some serious heck with your equipment due to a difference in grounds. If wireless won't cut it for you then your next best bet is to run some fiber. I think that my CEO said that his total cost of running the fiber was around 300 dollars for the equipment and the cable. Cable prices of fiber has really dropped over the last several years. One thing to keep in mind is that you will need to make sure is that you get a fiber cable with two lines because fiber is what they call half duplex i.e it can only communicate in one direction. One to send and the other to receive. On each end of the fiber you will need a terminator to take the fiber signal and translate it back into ethernet. The best part here is that you can run this under the ground let it get struck by lightning and whatever else because there is no metal in fiber whatsoever. This I think would be your best solution here. Oh and in your barn also make sure that you have a switch there for your two PC's to plug into as well as the fiber line. And hey if you need to from there just hook up another wireless device out there and then you'll really be covered
. Hope this helps.
