Is it safe to build a pig farm within a rice field?
Okay here's the thing, my father owns a rice field but then he thought building a pig farm in it. I raised a question about this but he insisted that it was safe. My concern is not about him building another income generating source but for those farmers who will react negatively on this somehow. Well, so much has been said and done. My father is now beginning to raise a couple of pigs and if things go smoothly he will mass produce them eventually. I wish him all the luck!
well all i can say is do not drink the water from the well or other sources near by the pig farm.
maybe you should google in factory farming site and see what it in tails. the humane farming ass. has some good descriptions and videos on pig farming. but it is bad for the endowment and cruel to the pigs.
raising pigs in a large area of pasture or rice fields can be beneficial to the fields. but raising pigs in stalls 2'x4' and living their whole lives on cement.
and all the inhumane things they do to the piglets and sows is a horror. and the water and air pollution is really bad, not to mention the disease that can result from cramming many animals together in a small space.
maybe you should learn about all this and educate your father so he can make an informed choice with the welfare of his neighbors , the pigs and himself in mind.
