Bit Reinforced

Help on determining quality of an acrylic bath?
A few years back I we had a new bathroom suite but the bath cracked very quickly (it wasn't reinforced). Coming to replace it now, but a bit worried the same will happen again. Looking around the likes of Wickes/Taskers/B&Q it seems there is a large spread in the price. So here's my question - are baths pretty standard in quality, i.e. are you paying for design. If not then, how can you gauge the quality of the bath before purchasing.
The thickness of the acrylic and the amount of GRP reinforcement are the critical ones.
If buying from B and Q etc. Have a look at the bath. If you look underneath at the rim you should be able to see the acrylic edge. You want a minimum of 4mm, preferably 5mm.
But in addition to this you want a bath that as been reinforced properly. Look underneath it should have plenty of GRP (fibreglass) on the base and all the way up the sides. It should also have a piece of chip board encased on the base. If there is one on display, try standing in it and look for any flexing. It should also have decent looking legs that look up to the job.
A good acrylic bath will last 20 years +
You do get what you pay for...
Avoid Ideal standard + armitage (they are now the same company and make their acrylic of low quality in Egypt)
