What exactly are the rules for an NFL center moving his head/arms before the snap?
I have seen some games with the center moving his head around and pointing with his arms before the snap of the ball after the quarterback is set. Obviously the rules are a little bit different for the center than the rest of the offensive line. I saw a game last year where the quarterback was in shot gun, and the center would swing his head around almost as if they were using it as some sort of snap count. It really didn't look like it should be legal. Can someone please explain?
when the center's hand touches the ball that hand can not come back up until the snap. but he can point to call out his blocks with his free hand as long as the snapping hand or his feet don't move.
