Adding Supports For A Cast Iron kitchen sink?
Adding supports for a cast iron kitchen sink?
I have a stainless steel kitchen sink I will be replacing with a new cast iron sink(both have lips and which I will be using a good silicone caulk), My kitchen cabinets are wood 1950's era and counter top (a formica covered particle board) ....I do think I will need to supports for the counter top around the sink......I was thinking along the lines of 4 2x4's with plywood bases and tops to support the counter, any other idea's?
If this is a standard professionally made countertop and in good condition, there's no reinforcments needed to hold the new cast iron sink. If it's something some handyman or someone's husband fabricated when the kitchen was installed, then it should probably be replaced.
